Course abstract
A professional traineeship is intended to consolidate the theoretical knowledge acquired and build up competences relevant to the programme. It involves the examination and management of resources necessary and significant for an enterprise/organization. Students learn in detail the practical methods of managing and planning resources that are used by enterprises and organizations representing various industries. The theoretical knowledge acquired during the studies is reinforced during the traineeship in order to acquire professional and soft skills and competences in the management of an enterprise/organization.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge
1.Students will be able todemonstrate an in-depth and integrated knowledge of resource management and resource constraints for enterprises and organisations in various industries of the economy - practical training report, a reference of the work placement supervisor, the presentation of the report
Professional skills
1.Independently analyse resource management processes at the work placement organisation and associate them with theory - practical training report and the defence of the report
2.Analyse, compare and assess various resource management processes at enterprises and organizations and identify opportunities for enhancement - practical training report, a reference of the work placement supervisor, the presentation of the report
Soft skills
1.Responsibly plan and complete the assignments given within the deadlines set and at high quality- reference of the work placement supervisor, compliance with the schedule
2.Reasonably discuss observations, conclusions and proposals- defence of the practical training report
3.Work in a team and perform the tasks assigned - reference of the work placement supervisor
Competence
1.Understand, comprehend, independently assess, explain and innovatively apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in resource management in enterprises and organizations in various industries of the national economy and take part in this process - practical training report, a reference of the work placement supervisor, the presentation of the report
2.Solve complicated problems in management of enterprises/organizations and come up with innovative solutions to the problems- practical training report, the defence of the report, a reference of the work placement supervisor
Course Content(Calendar)
1.Introduce with the company and the traineeship tasks which will be be performed in the company / organization
2.To identify the neediness for resources for a particular company / organization;
3.To analyze the availability of resources and the resurces importance for the company
4.To describe the company (institution / organization) business activities;
5.To explore the company / organization usability of resources for organization activities and planning, using previously learned methods;
6.To work out recommendations for more rational resources using in a particular company / organization
7.Prepare a practice report and a presentation of the practice report
Requirements for awarding credit points
The practical training is completed within the specified period, a practical training report is independently produced and successfully defended with the Practical Training Commission at the Institute of Business and Management Science. If the traineeship has not been completed in the required time period, if the traineeship defence has not been taken or has been evaluated with “failed”, it is considered to be an academic debt.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
Within the framework of the study course description for independent work is given 320 hours, which consists of: 1) internship in a company / organization; 2) preparation of the internship report in accordance with the content of the internship program; 3) preparation of the presentation of the practice report and defence of the practice
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
Final assessment of professional practice - test with a mark. The practice is evaluated in a 10-point system. The lowest successful mark is 4 (almost satisfactory). The assessment is made by the internship defence commission on the basis of the content of the internship report, the results of its internship defence and the reference of the internship manager.
