Course abstract
During their studies, master students will learn in-depth the processes of organizational change management, various approaches to more successful business changes. During the course, specific cases and examples of change management problems, various solutions, methods will be analyzed, so that the company will be able to adapt to changing conditions when making changes. After completing the course, master students will be competent in change management, which ensures the sustainability of the company's development
Learning outcomes and their assessment
KNOWLEDGE
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of the causes of change management, driving factors, types of their advantages and disadvantages, the basic principles of their selection in accordance with the company's goal.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the interaction of change management factors and experience in Latvia and the world.
SKILLS
Professional skills
• Able to generate and justify the company's need to make changes, explain and justify the choice of change management type, using the acquired theoretical aspects
• Is able to independently perform a detailed analysis of change management and develop a sound concept of change management in the organization, using change process implementation methods.
• Is able to explain and substantiate the importance of organizational culture, diagnostics and transformation in change management.
General skills
• Able to independently acquire, select and critically evaluate and analyse information, make decisions and solve problems.
• Able to work with others.
• Is able to explain and present the results of his / her work to others with arguments.
COMPETENCE
• Able to independently integrate the acquired in-depth knowledge, define and provide strategic change management solutions to increase the competitiveness of companies.
• Is able to independently assess the need for change, choose a reasonable type of change, apply a variety of methods in the process of change implementation.

4. The essence of change. (2 hours)
5. Types of change. (2 hours)
6. Change management and internal communication. (1 hour)
7. Stages and methods of change implementation. (2 hours)
8. Resistance to change. (1st hour)
9. Organizational culture and change management. (1 hour)
Requirements for awarding credit points
Test. The rating consists of:
• Test (30%);
• Independent work, presentation (30%)
• Practical work (40%)
10% corresponds to one point on the 10-point assessment scale.
