Course abstract | |
The course is designed to build up an in-depth knowledge of theory on ecopreneurship as well as the factors and criteria of ecopreneurship. The knowledge obtained enhances the understanding of green, shared and sustainable entrepreneurship. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
1.Students will be able to: demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of ecopreneurship as an enterprise’s choice for development and growth that is in line with the enterprise’s goal - discussions in classes, independent work
2.Demonstrate a specific knowledge of ecopreneurship problems and solutions in Latvia – essay 3.Independently research, reasonably explain and discuss ecopreneurship aspects as well as apply new approaches - presentation at an enterprise 4.Identify, analyse and group the factors influencing ecopreneurship stakeholders - practical assignment 5.Independently acquire, select and analyse information and use it for designing a business canvas - independent work 6.Explain and present the results of their research to others - presentation at an enterprise, the presentation of independent work 7.Responsibly plan the completion of the assignments given - independent work 8.Cooperate and communicate in a team and do teamwork - presentation at an enterprise 9.Independently define and critically analyse the use effectiveness of various ecopreneurship elements to raise the competitiveness of an enterprise - discussions in classes 10.Integrate the knowledge of and skills in different fields to design and implement a high-quality business canvas - independent work and the presentation |

1.Sustainable Development (lecture – 1 hour)
2.Introduction to case, possible visit to case company (practical – 1hour) 3.Sustainable Development context. Supply chain analysis of Sustainability (lecture – 1 hour, practical – 2 hours) 4.Concept of Eco Entrepreneurship. Discussions about sustainability’s analysis results for company and supply chain in case company (lecture – 1 hour, practical – 2 hours) 5.Visit to company/ result presentation (midterm if needed) (practical - 2 hours) 6.Eco Entrepreneurship essence. Practical task “Sustainable Innovation” (lecture – 2 hours, practical – 2 hours) 7.Eco Entrepreneurship’s life cycle. Practical task “Eco-innovation” (lecture – 1 hour, practical – 1 hour) 8.Eco company creation (lecture – 2 hours) 9.Eco Entrepreneur (lecture – 1 hour) 10.Eco Entrepreneurship Environment. Requirements for awarding credit points | |
Formal test. A "passed" evaluation can be obtained by obtaining at least 60 percent of each assessment component.
The evaluation consists of: •essay (25 point); •practical assignment, a presentation at an enterprise (25 point); •independent work (Business canvas) (25 point); •presentation of independent work (25 point). |
