Course abstract | |
The study course provides in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills in time and job planning and organization to achieve better work outcomes. It enhances students’ awareness of internal and external barriers to effective time planning and usage, as well as strategies for managing them. Key principles of job and time planning, along with techniques for goal setting and prioritization, are covered. The study course develops students’ ability to apply specific time and job planning tools, organize their work more effectively, achieve work objectives, and create a personal time management strategy that takes into account both professional environment factors and individual characteristics. The aim of the study course is to raise awareness among master’s students of the importance of time management and its key principles in order to enhance their professional and personal effectiveness. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
Knowledge:
Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of time perception, the concepts and factors of time management, and their effects on a person’s private and professional life (individual tasks). Skills: Professional skills: Capable of self-analysis and evaluation (individual tasks, discussion in the workshop). Able to identify internal and external barriers to the efficient use of time, analyse them and find suitable solutions for their elimination (individual tasks, discussion in the workshop). Ability to obtain, collect and analyse information and develop a personal time management strategy (individual tasks, report). General skills Ability to complete tasks within the set time responsibly (review, presentation, individual and group tasks). Ability to work effectively in a team, delegate and coordinate the performance of duties, and take responsibility for the results of the group’s work (group tasks). Ability to present the results of the work carried out and justify one’s opinion (individual tasks, paper, presentation). Competence Ability to independently formulate and critically analyze time management processes and problems, understand and apply various time-planning and efficiency methods, set priorities, and develop a personal time management strategy (individual tasks, paper and presentation). |

Program expanded content (12 hours) 1.The astronomical and philosophical understanding of time. (1 hour) 2.Basic elements of time management. (1 hour) 3.The nature and role of self-management and self-management in time management. (1 hour) 4.Time management structure. (1 hour) 5.Objective and subjective factors determining the use of time. (1 hour) 6.Target system and determinant. (1 hour) 7.Inefficient use of time. (1 hour) 8.Time planning system. (1 hour) 9.Psychological dimension in the performance of day-to-day duties. (1 hour) 10.Prioritisation or prioritisation. The Franklin Pyramid and the Eisenhower Matrix as practical methods in time management. Personal and work priorities, their coordination. Audit of individual priorities and targets. (1 hour) 11.Elements of the time-saving system. (1 hour) 12.Closing presentation: Individual Time Management Strategy. (1 hour) Workshop lesson topics (12 hours) 1.Self-evaluation system. Awareness of the strengths and weaknesses (2 hours). 2.Time management factors, time awareness, my relationship with time (1 hour). 3.Conditions for setting up time management strategies, time management factors, planning and execution methods, principles and techniques and their application (2 hours). 4.Analysis of the performance of personal time budget and working day tasks (2 hours). 5.Time planning habits and methods applied. Audit of individual priorities and targets (2 hours). 6.Assessment of time use. Internal and external barriers to the efficient use of time (2 hours). 7.Presentation of an individual time management strategy (1 hour). Part-time distance learning: All topics specified for full-time studies are accomplished, but the number of contact hours is half of the number specified in the calendar. |

Requirements for awarding credit points | |
A positive assessment (credit) can be obtained if the lectures have been attended and the individual assignments, group work, report, and presentation have all been completed and positively evaluated.
The study process in part-time distance learning is organised in accordance with Order of the Vice-Rector for Studies No. 2.4-8/54 on distance learning procedures at LBTU. Study courses are scheduled for each semester according to the study plan. The students learn the topics included in the study course independently, using the materials created and placed by the lecturer in the e-studies (Moodle). Feedback on the learning of lecture and seminar topics in distance learning is organised in the form of self-assessment tests, discussion forums and individual tasks, as well as in face-to-face or online consultations, lectures and final examinations according to the timetable. |

The assigned individual and group tasks, research assignments, or other types of tasks related to the topics covered in the classes have been completed, and a positive assessment (credit) has been obtained. | |
