Course abstract | |
In the study course, students learn the basic principles of and interrelationships in environmental management, theoretically and practically study circular economics, intergenerational ecological justice, and ecological irreversibility, and analyse global environmental problems. They learn the basic principles of the concept of environmental management and develop skills in tackling environmental problems at the level of enterprise and at the national level. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
Knowledge on the historical background of environmental management and knowledge on the scarcity of non-renewable resources, various models and algorithms of their use, ecological management systems, and environmental development programmes. Skills in understanding and assessing the system of environmental policy instruments, in analysing coordination problems concerning intergenerational ecological interests, in employing methods for calculating ecological footprints, in being aware of, analysing, and using the legal framework for the environment, and in theoretically and practically exploiting the principles of circular economics. Competence – abilities to analyse the effects of various economic sectors on the environment and society, based on various mathematic models and algorithms for ensuring the sustainable development of society. | |
