Course abstract
The students acquire knowledge about the essence of quality, its necessity and importance in entrepreneurship, about widespread quality systems and also about quality awards, standardization and conformance evaluation. Students acquaint themselves with the practical application of quality management, frequently used method and its means, and also with the quality costs.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge – basic knowledge and understanding of the essence and role of quality in the performance and competitiveness of enterprises and their special knowledge on instruments of quality management. Students comprehend the evolution of quality management, systems and models of quality in the world, as well as standardisation and suitability assessment.
• Skills –students can exploit the instruments of quality management, including determination of quality cost. Students can demonstrate a scientific approach in tackling quality problems, make decisions and find creative solutions in the field of quality and discuss the role of quality in business. • Competence – students are able to independently obtain, select, and analyse information and use it in tackling quality problems at an enterprise, work in quality groups, comprehend institutional and ethical aspects of an enterprise in the field of quality, identify needs of customers.
