Course abstract | |
The objective of the study course is to provide the theoretical and practical basic knowledge on key management issues. The course includes studies of resources and production factors in shaping the company's business, production costs formation and breakdown of the company's profitability and its estimation. The elaboration of production development plan extends practical knowledge. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
Knowledge – on the theoretical aspects of business management and production, the role of resources in the performance of an enterprise, and on specialisation, diversification, and cooperation. Knowledge on the specifics of determining the profitability of an agricultural enterprise – calculation of gross margin, profit or loss statement, roles of cash flow and balance sheet in planning the performance of an enterprise, and use of break-even point;
Skills – students can use their knowledge on conducting economic calculations to practically calculate and evaluate the profitability of economic activity for a certain enterprise and elaborate proposals for improving its performance; Competence – after completing the theoretical course, students are able to independently obtain and select necessary information, produce a production plan for an enterprise, as well as perform its economic evaluation in order to justify the profitability of the enterprise and elaborate proposals for improving it. |
