Course abstract
Most of all prepared industrial wood has been processed in sawmill industry what is one of the wood processing sector and basic aim of production of sawn timber is to develop sawing techniques of raw material providing lumber production of a certain size and quality, as well as small wood remains. Acquisition of the course promotes an understanding of primary wood processing sector and the ability for calculation of sawing schedules and design of sawmills.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge - to explain terminology of the sawmill industry and to understand the technology used in enterprises of primary forest sector.
• Skills - to perform calculations of sawing schedule of raw material and yearlong productivity of sawmill and to choose the necessary sawmill equipment. • Competence - to design technology of work in enterprises of primary forest sector.
