| Course abstract | |
| The study course strengthens theoretical knowledge of the full logging cycle and gives an idea of further processing of prepared timber, presents practical examples in the execution of basic logging operations and in the development technology of the felling area, the surveying and quality assessment of timber, the further processing of round timber, the construction and maintenance of forest roads. Observations are made at production sites in order to obtain data that can be analysed with conclusions on the qualitative and quantitative level of performance. | |
| Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
| After the course, the student will have:
• knowledge - knowledge of the practical progress of the full logging cycle, the impact of specific conditions on forest work technology and machine productivity, the responsibilities of a specialist in the logging company, the recycling of round timber (practice report), • skills - be able to choose the technological design of the felling area for the given forest stand, to produce the necessary documentation, to measure timber and to assess the quality thereof, to link the quality and size requirements of round timber to the further processing technology (practice report), • competence - responsible assessment of the technological planning of logging jobs, preparation of the necessary technological documentation, management and control of the progress of machinery works in felling areas, skilled assessment of production (practice report). |
