Course abstract | |
The place of the forest sector in the economy of Latvia; the dynamics of the development of the sector and its future forecast in comparison to other sectors. The institutional structure of the sector and opportunities for its improvement. The state of separate subsectors and development trends. The international institutions of the forest sector and Latvia's place in them. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
During the study course students will get an extended knowledge about topical questions of forest engineering in forest sector. Skills to define own viewpoint concerning things, which are going on in timber processing technology, will be obtained by students, as well as fair competence to substantiate the usefulness of any new proposal towards technical, technological and other improvements, even till forest certification systems, connected with particular circumstances. | |
