| In Latvia, forest is the dominanting ecosystem, accouting for 44.6% of the country's land area. Paludification is a process that has an influence on the whole postglacial era have been an obstacle in forest management. Drainage of forest lands was started 140 years ago and up to 41% of werland forest are drained. | |
