The characterisation of lichenes, mosses, pteridophytes, angiosperms and gymnosperms is given. The families and species of dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous plants are described morphologically, distribution in forest site types is given.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Students have obtained knowledge in plant morphology, anatomy, systematics and phytocenology. Students have skills to recognize and determine the plant species, based on the knowledge obtained, as well on the plant guide book. Students are able to explain the functions of a plant in connection to the anatomical structure. Students have competence to analyse the growing conditions of the forest ground cover vegetation and to describe the forest site types according to vegetation.
