| Phytopathological, entomological damage causatives, their development, nature and extent of the damage, also measures of combat in different age and type forest stands. Types and causes of the forest fires. Preventive measures to decrease count and distribution of the forest fires. Ways and tactics of the forest fire-fighting. Organization of forest protection and guarding in Latvia. | |
| Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
| Knowledge. During study course student acquires knowledge about the phytopathological and entomological damage agents, their development, damage character and amount to nature, also measures to combat it. Protection organization of the Latvia forest. Types of the forest fires and causes of the outbreak. Forest fire fighting techniques and tactics.
Skills. Acquired knowledge enable to predict and assess sanitary condition of different age and type forest stands. Competence. After study course students are able to do preventive and forestry measures of forest protection and guarding, based on newest scientific cognitions. |
