| Structure and processes of the forest ecosystem. Elements of the forest structure and their characteristics. Trees and shrubs. Tree height and diameter measurement. Differentiation of the trees. Uses of forest. Obtaining timber. Types of tree felling. Basics of forest typology. Reforestation. Forest protection against fire. | |
| Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
| Knowledge. During studies students gain knowledge about forest ecosystem and basics of forest typology, types of forest use and reforestation, also about forest protection against fire. Skills. Students after course can recognize forest edaphic rows, determine forest structure elements and count dendrometric parameters. Understand types of forest cutting and reforestation, also orient in questions about forest guarding. Competence. After acquirement of study course students are competent in forest terminology and classification of forestry operations. Are able to do dendrometric data processing. Predict consequences of forest fire depending on its intensity and type. | |
