Course abstract
Studying the course, students acquire the mathematical knowledge and skills needed for the further study of special subjects The first part of course includes matrix algebra, vector algebra, analytical geometry, limit of function, derivative of function and its applications.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge of elements of linear algebra, analytic geometry, limit of function, derivative of function and applications.
• Skills calculate the determinant, find the solution of a system of linear equations, recognise and use the standard equation of a straight line, recognize and interpret the equations of an ellipse, hyperbola, parabola, circle, calculate the limits of the functions, use the different rules of differentiation to differentiate functions of one variables. • Competence: of mathematical thinking, of handle symbols and formal mathematics language, of mathematical problem formulating and solving, of reasoning, of modeling, of aids and tools and of communication.
