Course abstract | |
During practice students get a general practical experience about acquired theoretical courses to Research methodology and Biostatistics, Fundamental soil sciences, Plant and Animal physiology, Plant and Animal Breeding and Animal Nutrition I. Visits to scientific institutions, advisory centres, agricultural production and processing companies. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
knowledge and understanding about knowledge acquired in the course in practical theoretical conditions; organization of in research institutions in agriculture;
skills to observe research results and choose the data treatment methods, to assess the characteristics of the soil, animal and plant genetic and physiological processes, navigate in to the breeding programs of farm animals and basic principles of plant selection, as well as to perform analysis of feed quality; competent to evaluate the results of research work, soil properties, physiological processes of plants and animals, the importance of animal husbandry, different methods of selection work in crop production, as well as evaluate the quality of the feed. During the preparation of the practice report students are able to construct a clear description and carry out logical conclusions |

Course Content(Calendar) | |
For the students the practical training consists of the parts of the previously acquired theoretical study courses. Practice acquiring is provided for three weeks. The general content of the practice may vary depending on the study direction, chosen by the student.
The general content of the practice: Research Methodology in Sustainable plant production (2 days or 16 hours) and in Sustainable animal production (2 days or 16 hours). Plant Physiology (1 day or 8 hours). Fundamental soil sciences (1 day or 8 hours). Breeding (1 day or 8 hours). Animal Physiology (1 day or 8 hours). Animal Breeding (1 day or 8 hours). Animal nutrition (1 day or 8 hours). After successfully completed and defended given tasks learning practice is passed. Within the last week students go on study visits to different agricultural holdings. Students draw up a report about visited places and submit it to e-studies and a hard copy for the practice supervisor. After successful evaluation of the report a practice is pass. |

Students independently carry out the practice tasks, set by the teaching staff, in concrete part of the study course and have a positive final grade (test). | |
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes | |
The assessment of practice consists of positive assessment of all parts of the practice course and submission of study visit report, its positive assessment (test). | |
