Course abstract
The aim of the study course is to teach how to make and read architectural drawings. During the course work the student learns how to design building plans, section views and elevations drawings.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge - understands room planning. Knows designations of windows, doors and building equipment and has a knowledge how to format architectural drawings. Is familiar with the graphic designations of electrical and plumbing elements and their application in building design - course paper and its presentation.
• Skills – can make building plans, sections and facade drawings. Can mark the wiring elements in the drawing of the building - course paper and its presentation.
• Competence – ability to apply professional knowledge and skills of Engineering graphics in practical work and studies - course paper and its presentation.

Full time intramural studies:
1. Issuance of the technical task of the course paper.
2. Aim and tasks of the course paper.
3. Conditional signs in construction drawings.
4. Plan and procedure for its execution.
5. Section and its execution order.
6. Facade drawing.
7. Dimensioning.
8. Conditional graphic designations for plumbing equipment.
9. Graphical designations of switches, switches, buttons and contacts.
10. Graphical designations of electrical installation lines and wires.
11. Graphical designations of light fixtures.
12. Graphical designations of electrical equipment and apparatus.
13. Graphical designations of boxes, cabinets and panels.
14. Electrical lighting plan.
15. Design of construction drawings.
16. Preparation of course paper.
Part time extramural studies:
All topics specified for full time studies are accomplished, but the number of contact hours is one half of the number specified in the calendar
Requirements for awarding credit points
Completed and presented course paper.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
The course paper is performed independently according to the specified conditions. Acquire unclear questions from literature. The course paper is presented after its completion.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
The assessment of the course paper depends on the quality of the course paper, the fulfillment of the requirements of the set conditions and work presentation. The student obtains a successful mark on the course paper if the work is presented and at least 60% of the terms of the work are fulfilled.
