Course abstract | |
The aim of the study course is to provide knowledge about an integrated field, which includes the analysis of the possibilities of using precise technologies in the natural sciences. Students will gain knowledge about the development of GIS, spatial data processing and analysis, as well as spatial planning possibilities in solving interdisciplinary problems in agriculture, forestry and environmental science-related fields. During practical work, students will get acquainted with the experience of various sectors in the implementation and research of the possibilities of practical application of precise technologies in accordance with modern development trends.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of GIS development, spatial data processing and analysis (practical works).
Able to independently use theory and practical skills in solving interdisciplinary problems using open data, GIS, spatial data processing and analysis (practical works, independent research). Able to use the freely available open source software QGIS (practical works, independent research). Able to reasonedly discuss the specifics of a developed solution, precise technological issues (independent research). |
