Course abstract
Student gets introduced in types of research, course gives the impression about the hallmarks of scientific research, dealt with issues of researcher ethics code, education and research system in Latvia, research publishers and research papers databases in Latvia and abroad. The course focuses on issues of analysis and aggregation of scientific materials as well on issues related to international research cooperation and research report development.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
• Knowledge: is able to show the depth or extends knowledge and understanding of the types of research, and which provides the basis for applied research and fundamental research; is able to apply knowledge of IT research related to the cross discipline fields.
• Skills: is able to independently use the theory, methods and problem-solving skills to carry out research activities in the IT process evaluation, using research methodology knowledge. Is able to forcefully explain and discuss about the type of research, experimental design and risk analysis for the particular IT problem at study. • Competence: is able to independently formulate and critically analyze the IT industry complex research and professional problems. Able to integrate knowledge from different fields, as well to contribute to the creation of new knowledge, research methods of operation, development, and demonstrate understanding of ethical responsibility for the results of scientific or professional activity.
