Course abstract
The aim of the course is to develop an understanding of the generation of electromagnetic waves, their properties and the basics of their application in the field of information technology. In laboratory work, students get acquainted with different processes of electromagnetism and measure the physical values characterizing them, as well as learn to evaluate the results of their work.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knows the quantities and regularities characterizing electromagnetism processes - theory tests.
Can perform appropriate measurements - laboratory work.
Able to evaluate measurement results - laboratory works and their defence.

Requirements for awarding credit points
Written exam: answers to 10 theory questions. The exam is passed if the student has received 50% of the grade. Students who have collected at least 50% of the maximum number of points during the semester, summing up the assessment during the semester, are admitted to take the exam:
1.Colloquium in theory- 3;
2.Controls for solving tasks- 3;
3.Defending Laboratory Works - 8;
4.Independent homework-2 (optional option). Each test is scored by 0-10 points.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
1. Independent work. An individual assignment will be given in e-learning.
2. Laboratory work calculations should be carried out, results and conclusions should be prepared for presentation.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
A student can obtain a successful mark for a test or exam if he / she collects at least 50% of the points in the assessment. Students who have acquired at least 60% of the maximum possible score during the entire semester can receive an accumulative score.
