Course abstract
Students develop knowledge, skills and competence about the European Union (EU) as a whole and its institutions in the context of human resources and educational policy. Students develop an in-depth understanding of the possibilities of human resources policy and the content of the educational space in relation to career guidance support in the EU. The course emphasizes skills and competence to find, explain, analyze, integrate and assess information. The aim of the study course is to develop knowledge, skills and competence in EU human resources and educational policy in order to be able to promote appropriate career guidance support.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge:
1.Students factually formulate and explain information on the EU formation and its development in the context of human resource and Education Area policy – practical group works, a test;
2.students explain the policy of education and human resources in relation to career guidance support – practical group works.
Professional skills:
3.students are able to analyse information on the functions of the EU institutions in the context of human resources and Education Area policy – practical group works;
4.students are able to debate reasonably on the Area of Education and human resources policy of the EU in the context of career guidance support and lifelong learning – practical group works.
Soft skills:
5.students are able to summarize information on the formation and development of the EU, the functions of institutions in the context of human resources and Education Area policy – practical group works;
6.students are able to summarize information on the policy of education and human resources in relation to career guidance support – practical group works;
7.students are able to co-operate and communicate - practical group works.
Competence:
8.students are able to integrate and assess knowledge and skills on the opportunities of the EU Education Area in the context of career guidance support and lifelong learning – an independent work; 9.students are able to integrate and assess knowledge and skills on the EU human resources policy in relation to career guidance support – an independent work.
Course Content(Calendar)
1.The formation and development of the European Union (EU) in the context of human resources and Education Area policy. Symbols and values, development, aims and principles, safety, enlargement, EU institutions and their functions (lectures - 2 h, practical group work “Learning Stations”– 4 h).
2.The relevance, formation and development of the EU Education Area. The analysis and usage of its documents and recommendations in lifelong learning and career guidance support - (lectures - 2 h, practical group work, discussion – 6 h).
3.The relevance of career guidance support in the EU in general and international organizations – (lectures - 1 h, practical group work, discussion – 3 h). 4.Human resources policy and safety in connection with career guidance support in the EU. The analysis of guidelines and documents – (lecture - 1 h, practical group work, discussion – 3 h).
Requirements for awarding credit points
Lecture attendance, all practical group works completed in the faculty room, submitted three independent works; successful assessment of practical group and independent works. Students must score at least 60 points out of 100.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
1.An independent work – test. The formation, development and the functions of the institutions of the European Union in the context of human resources and Education Area policy, and career guidance support – 15 h.
2.An independent work. Information analysis and assessment on the EU Education Area in the context of lifelong learning and career guidance support – 21 h. 3.An independent work. Information analysis and assessment on human resources policy and safety in connection with career guidance support in the EU– 21 h.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
The test is formed from the cumulative evaluation of all practical group works and all independent works.
25 points - four practical group works (minimum number of points - 12; minimum number of points for each practical group work - 3): the formation and development of the EU in the context of human resources and Education Area policy; the relevance, formation and development of the EU Education Area; the importance of career guidance support in the EU; human resources policy and safety in connection with career guidance support in the EU..
75 points - three independent works (minimum number of points - 48; minimum number of points for each independent work - 16). Assessment of independent and practical works takes place in accordance with the criteria set out in them.
