Course abstract
Students acquire in-depth knowledge of strategic human resource management in organizations, including the nature, functions, processes, development trends, organizational culture, team management principles, employee motivation, performance management, and development planning, as well as the influence of generations and values in the work environment. Students deeply understand, formulate, and implement human resource strategy, linking it to organizational goals; develop a data-based approach to personnel management; use human resource analytics; apply performance indicators (KPI HR); provide career counseling (KPI); evaluate personnel management effectiveness; apply human capital return; and apply balanced scorecard principles.
Students gain an in-depth understanding of the importance of career counselling in human resource management and are able to identify the professional practices of a career counsellor in providing career support. Objective – acquisition of in-depth knowledge, skills, and competence for the professional activities of a career counselor in human resource management.

Course Content(Calendar)
Full-time studies:
Lectures (12 hours):
1. The essence, development, and trends of human resource management. The concept, functions, and tasks of human resource management. The place of human resources in business. Historical and philosophical development. Modern trends in human resource management. Political, social, and economic challenges. Artificial intelligence and automation in human resource management processes (lectures 4 h, practical work 4 h).
2. Generational management, values ​​, and human capital in the organization. Characteristics of traditionalists, Baby boomers, X, Y, Z generations. Work values ​​and expectations. Challenges of generational management. Value models in the organization. The concept and development of human capital. Aspects of social learning in the work environment (lectures 2 h, practical work 2 h).
3. Strategic human resource management, organizational culture, and team management. Formulation and implementation of human resource strategy. Personnel policy and tools. The role of the human resource manager. Elements and values ​​of organizational culture. Stages of team formation. Leadership styles and barriers to cooperation. Employee behavioral styles and flexibility (lectures 3 h, practical work 3 h).
4. Personnel provision, motivation, and development. Personnel planning and selection. Types of interviews. Motivation theories. Remuneration and compensation systems. Employee involvement. Performance appraisal. Principles of development and career planning. Application of socionics in human resource management practice (lectures 4 h, practical work 4 h).
5. Human resource analytics and KPI in human resource management (strategic KPI). Human resource analytics. Types and sources of data in human resource management. Definition of KPI in human resource management processes. Selection, retention, and involvement indicators. Career development KPI in human resource management. Data visualization and interpretation. Data ethics in the field of human resource management (lectures 3 h, practical work 3 h).
6. Human resource management efficiency indicators and performance management (operational KPI). The concept of human resource efficiency involves quantitative and qualitative indicators. Employee turnover and absenteeism analysis. Human capital return (HROI). 4 perspectives of the human resources balanced scorecard. Performance management cycle. Linking KPIs to organizational strategy. Data-driven decision-making (lectures 4 h, practical work 4 h).
7. Career counselling and career guidance in human resource management. The professional identity of a career counsellor. The duties, roles, and competency framework of a career counsellor in human resource management. (lectures 4 h, practical work 4 h).
Requirements for awarding credit points
All practical assignments (including discussions, situation analyses and group work) was completed in the auditorium, four independent works were submitted (two of them - a speech presentation) and a test was written. All works were successfully assessed.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
The total number of hours of independent work, i.e., 114 h, is divided as follows:
1. Independent work (presentation) on the characterization and assessment of human resource strategy in a selected organization – 20 h.
2. Independent work (calculations) on human resource management efficiency indicators (KPI) and operational performance management – ​​17 h.
3. Independent work (calculations) on human resource analytics and KPI in personnel management (strategic KPI) – 20 h.
4. Independent work (situation analysis) – the duties and roles of a career counsellor in human resources management – 17 h Preparation for the exam – test – 40 h.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
The final grade for the study course depends on the cumulative grade of all four independent works and the test, which is written in the classroom during the time allotted for the exam. The test grade makes up 40% of the total grade for the study course. The remaining 60% is made up of the grades for the independent works. A successful final grade for the study course is obtained if at least 60 points out of 100 maximum points are obtained.
