Course abstract
A student develops a course paper that shows the student's skills to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the study course “sustainable entrepreneurship”. During course paper development, the student shall strengthen the acquired understanding regarding the analysis of the activities of the undertaking, sustainable entrepreneurship and the requirements of regulatory enactments therein. Skills and competences are promoted in the economic rationale for business sustainability and development and in the application of methods.
The aim of the study course is to apply the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the student, to evaluate the student's abilities and ability to independently perform analysis, assessment and interpretation of the sustainability dimension (social, economic or environmental) of the undertaking.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
1. Knowledge of business sustainability and regulatory enactments regulating entrepreneurship - course paper, the presentation and defence of the course paper
2. Able to demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of theoretical and empirical research in sustainable business - course paper, the presentation and defence of the course paper
3. Capable of defining the actuality, purpose and tasks of the subject of the study, choosing and applying the most appropriate research methods in the development of the course paper - course paper, the presentation and defence of the course paper
4. Ability to systematize, process and analyze information for course paper development - course paper
5. Knowledge how to draw conclusions when analysing information, is able to develop and formulate proposals - course paper, the presentation and defence of the course paper
6. Ability to independently structure course paper development progress - course paper
7. Capability of taking responsibility and initiative in the course paper - course paper
8. Ability to communicate with the manager (employees) of enterprises (institutions, organisations) for obtaining the data and information necessary for the development of course paper - course paper
9. Ability to publicly defend the results of the work, present the drafted proposals and substantiate personal opinion, and answer questions - the presentation and defence of the course paper

Course Content(Calendar)
For full and incomplete time:
1. Course paper content, possible topics, and requirements.
2. Select and match the course paper topic with the manager.
3. Familiarize yourself with methodological instructions for developing and defending course paper.
4. Compilation and systemisation of theoretical literature.
5. Analysis of regulatory enactments.
6. Obtaining the necessary data and information.
7. Development of analytical parts for course paper.
8. Development of key conclusions and proposals.
9. Preparation of presentations to defend course paper.
10. Defending and evaluating course paper.

Requirements for awarding credit points
Defended with an assessment
The assessment consists of the following pieces of assessment:
•development of the course work,
•presentation of the course work,
•answer to the questions.
Assessment mark on a 10-point scale.
Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work
The student shall develop the course paper independently according to the selected paper subject, in consultation with the head of the course paper. The course paper shall be submitted to the supervisor of the course paper within the specified time period specified in e-studies in paper format and uploaded to the LBTU e-study site in electronic format. The development, management, submission of course paper, and the procedures for defending the course paper shall be regulated by the methodological instructions approved by LBTU ESAF for the development and defending of course paper for students of the Professional Bachelor's study programme Entrepreneurship and Business Management. The course paper is evaluated by the course paper supervisor.
Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes
The supervisor of the course's paper organises a public defence. The place and time of substitution shall be determined by the supervisor of the course paper. Information on job presentation evaluation criteria, their respective points, place and time can be found in e-studies. In defending the paper, the student answers questions about the course paper developed and the topic studied. As a result, the course supervisor shall evaluate the course paper developed and defended.
The final score is made up of the total points obtained for the course paper developed, the quality of its presentations and the answers given.
