Course abstract
The course provides an overview of the global financial system and the processes and regularities of the financial market. The purpose of the course material is to apply general financial concepts specifically to the management of financial policy, regulation and supervision of financial market as well as the analysis of foreign exchange, money and capital market operation.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge on financial market as element of international financial system, structure, and policy of financial market, market regulation and surveillance, application of financial instruments allowing to reduce foreign exchange risk, money market and monetary policy, derivatives, operation and application of derivatives as well as capital market and investment banks. Skills to analyse notions, regularities and ongoing processes in financial market; to do exchange rate calculations, to calculate forward rates and interest rates in forward market. Competence – acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills allowing to perform the analysis of financial market, to determine development trends of financial market and factors affecting it as well as to work out recommendations for financial investment and capital inflow.
