Human health and environment. Legislation of Latvia. EU and other international organizations. Pollutants. Impact to environment assessment.Economy of energy. Pollution of air, water and atmosphere. Dangerous wastes. | |
Learning outcomes and their assessment | |
After completing the course student will have: knowledge theory about environment protection, topicality and legislation; understanding of national, municipal and corporate actions on environmental protection, regulations about use of environmental resources and requirements of the environmental performance in case of polluting activities (test); skills ability to manage the environmental terminology and to identify and evaluate main pollutants of the environment (practical works); competence knowledge and practical skills about environment protection and sustainable development are acquired in the context of laws and regulations (practical works). | |

Own-initiative work: 1. Analyse and assess the waste balance of one sector of the economy: relation to the final product, possible uses. 2. Protection of the environment of the international, state and non-governmental organisation. | |
