Course abstract
The objective of subject is to give knowledge about physical and mechanical properties of steel and aluminium alloys, and design of metal structures according to limit state method. The analysis of strength, stability and stiffness of structural elements and connections is included. Calculation methods and design of beams, centric loaded columns and trusses is given.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Knowledge about design of steel structures; skills to perform calculation and construction of steel structures; competence to define design problem of steel structure, perform design and evaluate the acquired results.
