Course abstract
The course introduces students to general knowledge on motor roads and parking places including construction, service and the impact on environment. In tutorials students acquire the skills for use of road design methods and fulfil the ones by working out the course project.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
After completing the course student will have:
• knowledge - general knowledge on motor roads, skid resistance of road coverings, requirements of road safety, specifications for construction materials designed for roads, squares and engineering structures.
• skills - to perform the technical design in accordance with the valid codes of practice; to make a good choice as regard environmental friendly construction materials and engineering structures needed for environmental protection. • competence - ability for analysis of technical designs of roads and squares evaluation the potential threats for environment.
