Course abstract
Students obtain knowledge about plant cell structure, chemical content and functions. The cell’s membranes and their activity. Water relations regime Transpiration. Mineral elements in plants. Biological assimilation of nitrogen Plant pigments. Photosynthesis, its affecting factors. Respiration, substratum, the systems of enzymes and the affecting factors of environment. The growth and development of plants. Plant hormones. Photoperiodism and the physiology of flowering. Dormancy. Stress physiology and adaptation to unfavourable conditions of environment. Immunity, pathophysiology of plants.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
Students obtain knowledge about plant growth and development, physiological processes in plants, effects of internal and environmental factors on plants and yield formation.
Students are able to determine main physiological parameters of plants. Students can assess plant growth and development and affecting and limiting factors of woody plant ontogenesis.
