Course abstract
Study course gives knowledge about important branch for landscape architects – landscape planning looking from aspect of solution of complex tasks. Within the course students adopt principles of sustainable development, energoplanning, role of territory planning and urban environment architecture, role and place of landscape planning within development planning process, as well as instruments for development and implementation of landscape plans. They will get practical knowledge in risk management and project development to raise financial capacity for reaching initiatives in municipalities.
Learning outcomes and their assessment
After completion of study course students will have:
• knowledge how to develop and inspect different teoretical aspects of urbanization processes in landscape planning as base for understanding, interpretation, use and assess of different sources of information, knowledge about planning processes and planning approaches of local municipalities.
• They will get skills how to choose adequate research methods for analysing situation in municipality, how to interpret research results and to formulate conclusions. • Students together with their supervisors will be competent to do analyses of research data within bachelor thesis and to use results of the other research papers as well as forecast framework of landscape planning in relation with development processes in Latvia and other regions.
