Course abstract

The study course provides knowledge of creative thinking methods and their usage, experimenting with its different techniques, in the process of developing new ideas and interior design projects. Alongside theoretical knowledge, students learn practical skills to apply creative thinking tools, create creative and original solutions in interior design. Tasks include impulsive actions, analytical decision-making and a creative approach, developing ideas from sketches to presenting an interior design project to a wider audience, taking into account spatial aspects.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge: knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of creative thinking and interior design, the process of creating new ideas - presentation;
Skills: being able to acquire and analyse the necessary information for the development of an interior design project in accordance with the requirements of functional, aesthetic and modern interior - practical works/seminars;
Competencies: being able to use theoretical knowledge and skills acquired in the course of study by creating a successful, competitive design project for the interior - creation of an A2 mood board.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Successfully defended all the practical works and a successful average mark allows getting the credit points needed.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

1. Research in the field of self-interest has been carried out using creative methods and techniques.
2. A concept of spatial design has been developed using creative thinking methods and previously acquired knowledge and skills. An integrated visualization within an A2 digital mood board has been developed.
3. An interior design of a space has been developed, observing the basic principles of interior design. Creation and presentation of the A2 mood board.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The final assessment of the study course is calculated from the total assessment of three practical works divided by three. If the average arithmetic mark divides, the attendance of the classes is taken into account. If the number of classes attended is at least 75% of the total number of classes, the mark is rounded up.
