Course abstract

The course deals with the compilation, dissemination and presentation of research results in order to popularize research results and make them available to the public. Within the course, doctoral students work on the presentation of research results in scientific articles and prepare presentations of research results for demonstration at conferences. Visual representation techniques relevant to the field of landscape architecture and planning are covered.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Knowledge of research results compilation, publication and presentation methods.
2. Skills to present and disseminate research results according to the specifics of the research.
3. Competences to form a discussion with the audience.

Acquired knowledge, skills and competencies are evaluated according to the quality of prepared publications and presentation of results at conferences.

Course Content(Calendar)

Systematization and summarization of research results in presentations by semesters.
Reflection of the research presentation in a publication or materials of scientific conferences has to be attached to the scientific approbation.

The doctoral student and the supervisor should be indicated the presentation. The consultant may be indicated in the presentation as well.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Test (assessment is provided by the supervisor).
2., 3., 4. semester research presentation (6CP);
In the 5th, 6th semester (17CP) the research is presented:
at the department meeting, at the faculty interdepartmental meeting, at the pre-defense meeting of the Doctoral Council, at the final defense meeting of the Doctoral Council.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

- Number of research presentations (minimum 1 scientific conference per semester);
- creation of research presentations by semesters within the framework of pedagogical practice;
- presentation of research results at the LLU scientific conference “Research for Rural development” (obligatory; min. 1 time);
- presentation of research results at scientific conferences of Latvian universities or other countries;
- ability to give a presentation at an international conference in English;
- ability to present the material within the specified time;

- ability to give reasoned answers to the audience's questions.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Presentations should reflect:
The topicality of the research work, the aim and tasks of the topic.

Summarize the presentation material as a publication.
