Course abstract

During the study course, students get acquainted with the development of engineering building design justification, its creation, and maintenance processes. Students learn road route marking, geodetic surveying works. Performs compilation and design of longitudinal and transverse profiles. Learns to perform leveling of the territory surface and design of a sloping surface. Acquires marking of axes of a construction object, special geodetic works in construction.
Strengthens skills to work carefully and accurately both independently and in a group. To draw up measurement documentation by the requirements. Acquires to independently obtain, select and analyze information that is necessary for the performance of tasks in production work - using it, to make useful decisions and solve problems. Practices timely detection of measurement errors, analysis of their causes, and finding ways to eliminate them. To be able to critically evaluate one's knowledge and skills, to be able to be responsible for the quality of one's work.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Knows the types of work in engineering geodetic research of linear structures, compilation, and design of graphic materials, surface leveling; Activities in teaching practice
2. Knows the chamber works of demarcation of a construction object and knows demarcation in nature; and cadastral surveying; Activities in teaching practice
3. Can use the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice, guided by the given task in specific terrain conditions, to work carefully and accurately both independently and in a team, to draw up measurement documents by the set requirements; Activities in teaching practice
4. Can independently obtain, select and analyze information necessary for the performance of work in practice, use it, make decisions by their competence and solve problems related to the work to be performed, understand professional ethics, be able to assess the impact of their professional activities on the environment and society. Able to critically evaluate their knowledge and skills and understand the need for further education, be responsible for the quality of their work.Activities in teaching practice

5. Can compile and draw up a report on the performed geodetic activities. Defense of teaching practice.

Course Content(Calendar)

Full-time studies:
1. Road route marking and picketing. Main points and detailed delineation of curves. Picket setting. Track leveling. Profile creation. Designing profiles. Route planning;
2. Surface leveling in squares. Defining a square network and linking it to a geodetic network. Leveling of square vertices. Drawing up a terrain plan. Vertical layout design;
3. Demarcation of the main axes of the structure from the points of the geodetic network. Transfer of axles to the fence. Installation of a temporary rapper on the construction site. Determination of building tilt.

Part-time studies:

All topics specified for full-time studies are implemented, but the number of contact hours is 1/2 of the specified number of hours

Requirements for awarding credit points

Defense of study practice:
Composition of the defense of the internship
- Test of practical skills for working with geodetic instruments and measurement methods;

Students present the logical course of study practice, discussions about the obtained results

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

- Practice students fulfill the group's top goal practice tasks by the program and prepare the report of practice documents;

- After learning the practice report preparation and transfer of the practice supervisor practice group pass the final examination.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

- The evaluation of the practice depends on the results of the practical skills test and the presentation of the results obtained during the practice and their evaluation.

- All tasks assigned in the practice must be completed.
