Course abstract

The study course is intended to develop the calendar plan for conducting research and initiation of research process, which includes identification and application of the research methods relevant to the topic of the thesis. After the initial identification and analysis of literature sources, the acquisition and processing of information related to specific studies will be continued.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge:
- knows the research methods relevant to the topic of the thesis;
- accumulated knowledge on similar studies in the selected research direction.
Evaluation - selection and analysis of relevant sources of scientific literature.
Skills:
- able to plan and initiate research work;
- is able to independently select the relevant research methods and apply those in the planned research;
- able to critically evaluate and compare information available in scientific literature.
Evaluation - the calendar plan for conducting research has been developed, the analysis of the obtained results has been carried out, the types and number of selected sources of literature.
Competencies:
- independently identifies the sources of information necessary for research, plans and conducts research.
Evaluation - discussion with the supervisor.

Course Content(Calendar)

The doctoral student independently performs:
1. Development of the calendar plan for conducting research.
2. Selection and application of the most appropriate research methods.
3. In accordance with the calendar plan developed, begins implementation of research activities.
4. Supplementing the list of sources of scientific literature.
5. Supplementing the report on the results of the research of literature sources.
6. Submitting the literature review and the first results of research activities to the supervisor.

Requirements for awarding credit points

The calendar plan for conducting research, the results of research, review of scientific literature are discussed with the supervisor of the doctoral thesis.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

The doctoral student independently develops the research plan, initiates the research process by consulting with the supervisor.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The overview of the research conducted has been created, the initial summary of the results obtained has been prepared, the overview of scientific literature studies has been created consisting of at least 20 additional literature sources.

2.Literature sources according to the topic of the doctoral thesis in the chosen sub-field of science.
