Course Annotation
The objective of course is to introduce students with ethnic psychology which is a branch of social psychology. It explores specific characteristics in human mental pattern and behavior depending on his national identity or ethnical community. Students have to gain comprehension about ethnopsychology’s objectives and its development today. They have to judge correctly the essence of ethnical stereotypes and to get to the bottom of transnational relationship problems.
Study Results:
Knowledge: Course contains knowledge about directions of development of modern ethnopsychology, formation of ethnical identity, nationalism and its modifications, ethnical conflicts and their solutions.
Skills: Skills in better understanding of social processes and in making effective decisions according to changing circumstances. Skills in analyzing current ethnopolitical processes in different levels (from international to local) and in evaluation their influence to the development of culture, applying methods of sociology. Skills in analyzing problems of transnational relationship.
Competence: Competences to give professional explanations and comments in mass media, to participate in coordination and supervision of cultural projects, to consult with various interest groups about issues of cultural politics and to make more successful multicultural communication.
