Course abstract

Master thesis is a complete study of the Latvia forest industry with contemporary problems. It contains a thematic overview of the topic under study, experimental work and the empirical results of the processing methodology description.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Master thesis reinforces the master student's knowledge of the scientific research phases, from the choice of subject and ending with the presentation and defence. Develops skills to seek and process information, plan and carry out experiments, interpret results, make recommendations for their use. As a result , master student acquires the competence to formulate independently and critically analyze complex scientific and professional problems.

66 hours are devoted to each of the topics, except for the researcher's 10 hours.

Defended work in the Master's examination commission.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

During the weekly meeting, the supervisor discusses the tasks performed independently and plans the work plan for the next reporting stage. At the end of the study course, the achievements for the whole reporting period are presented - defending the master's thesis at the Master's examination commission.
