HidZ3034 [GHDR3034] Hidrotechnical Structures
Department of water management. Basics of water legislation. Hydrotechnical structures - structures under water pressure and mechanical force, water resource management facilities and structures which protect from the force and harm of water. Hydrological, filtration, gully, hydraulic calculations of constructions, wind, rain and erosion effects. Water basins, their parameters. Aquaculture ponds. Geosynthetics. Applied materials, justification for the choice. Construction work sequence, applied technologies. Hydroenergetics, power, equipment. Calculation for the amount of work. Cost estimate.
• Know about hydrotechnical structures, their classification, main calculation principle.
• The ability to choose the correct hydrotechnical structure type, solve water treatment issues, make necessary construction calculations and choose the right type of construction.
• Competition in construction and operation of structures. Hydrotechnical structure construction selection, work volume and estimate calculation. The ability to compile hydrotechnical structure construction projects.

Part time extramural studies: All topics specified for full time studies are accomplished, but the number of contact hours is one half of the number specified in the calendar
The draft course shall be developed, submitted and successfully defended in the calculation of the hydrotechnical structure, the graphical part, in order to receive the netting with a mark.
During course design development, using geospatial information systems, the location of the hydrostructure shall be located and evaluated. Hydrological, hydraulic calculations of the location found shall be performed. Independently select the type of hydrostructure, perform calculations of filtration, wind, water exposure, evaluate accuracy. Selects the equipment according to the calculated values. Compiles the quantity of jobs, estimates for the particular course job. Graphic part, master plan, drawings according to calculations made. Independently, a reservoir site must be located on one of the geospatial information sites. The location of the hydrotechnical structure must be chosen, all the characteristics necessary for the calculation must be found, the necessary values must be calculated, a master plan must be drawn up, the cuts must be drawn up, the calculation of the cost of the work quantities must be drawn up.
1. Generally. The assessment of the study course depends on the amount of points obtained during the term. In total, you can get a maximum of 100 points, equivalent to 10 balls.
2. Works to be carried out:
a. parts of the project where up to 5 points can be obtained each (maximum 50 points in total);
b. participation in all classes (maximum 10 points in total, 100% attendance);
c. Practical work in the e-study system (total maximum 10 points) has been submitted within the specified time period;
d. Presentation and defence of the course project (maximum 30 points in total).
3. Conditions for the overall assessment:
• 3 balls if less than 50 points have been obtained during the term;
• 4 balls when 50... 54 points;
• 5 for 55... 59 points;
• 6 for 60... 69 points;
• 7 for 70... 79 points;
• 8 balls at 80... 89 points;
• 9 for 90... 95 points;
• 10 for 96... 100 points.
