Course abstract

During the pedagogical practice students have to use theoretical knowledge in pedagogical activity, including planning, organizing, control and evaluation of teaching/learning process in study subjects "Home Economics and Technologies" and "Informatics/Visual Art", in upbringing process. Students have: 1) to know basis school as educational environment, including the specificity of pedagogical culture and traditions at school; 2) to develop and improve pedagogical competences in the spheres of teaching/learning methodology, up-bringing and education management; 3) to do scientific research.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge - students know and understand educator methodological, up-bringing, education management and research functions in school environment.
• Skills - can apply theoretical knowledge in pedagogical practice; can plan, manage, analyse and evaluate own professional activities at school and critical take another teachers experience; can research teaching/learning, up-bringing and educational process at school.
• Competence - students are able to independently and responsibly carry out pedagogical activities in the school environment and self-direct their professional development.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Developing calendar schedules for practice acitivities.
2. 7 lessons planning, independent management in the subject "Home Economics and Technology", including 1 open lesson.
3. 7 lessons planning, independent management in the subject "Informatics/Visual Arts", including 1 open lesson.
4. Preparation and/or management of 1 school level event and 1 class level event.
5. Observation, analysis and evaluation of 1 Class lesson by Practice supervisor (practice mentor); collaboration with pupils families, especially with parents.
6. Continuing independent research activity in the school environment.
7. Engaging in counselling for pupils in relation to the choise of scientific research theme.
8. Preparing a practice report for 11 weeks of practice, adding on the last page of the report a self-assessment, both in the descriptive and in the rating points.
9. Submitting 1 week before the exam: 1) a practice report electronically; 2) 3 reviews by practice mentors (for study subjects Home Economics and Technological Methodology; subject Informatics/Visual Arts methodology and upbringing in school and class) with descriptive evaluation and evaluation in grades (in total: 3 evaluations).
10. Preparing a presentation of the practice report and public speech for the exam.

Requirements for awarding credit points

All the requirements of the first stage of pedagogical practice "Pedagogue at environment of school II" must be fulfilled, including preparing presentation on the progress made in the second stage of the practice, successfully pass the exam.
