Course abstract

This course includes the necessary knowledges in connection with design, manufacture, assemblage, operation and reconstruction of structures. There is provided methodological bases for assessment of building structures, including determination of material properties and load bearing capacity as well as specific features of experimental research. Various cases of inspection and expert reports and suggestions for reconstruction are analysed. In conclusion, forms and facilities of reconstruction and strengthening are discussed. BIM system software programmes are used - MS Excel, AutoCAD.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledges about rules and methods in technical assessing of building constructions; skills to determine the load bearing capacity of structures and to perform experimental research with evaluation of results; competences to set up, to solve and to analyse research problems in the construction field on the basis of preliminary knowledges and understanding of limit states method. Assessment is carried on the basis of defended laboratory tests and individual control tests.
