The aim of the study course is to acquire the theory of general (typical) machine elements (part and units), engineering calculations and design, present engineering knowledge for creative machine design work, develop engineering thinking, initiative and creation, to apply the existing ideas and to search for new ones, to modulate using analogues.
Knowledge - know the criteria for workability of machines, machines and parts, selection of materials and design methods, knowledge of the design-related standards (ISO, LVS, DIN) - exam.
Skills - how to choose a technical method to address tasks, use manuals and standards for practical tasks - 4 laboratory work tasks.
Competence - capable of modulating tasks in machine science, addressing technical tasks and conducting independent studies, is a knowledgeable, informed, and capable professional – 4 laboratory work tasks.
1. Gear drive types (Lecture – 2h)
2. Selection of gear material (Lecture 1h)
3. Calculation of gear train (Lecture – 1h, Lab Work 2h)
4. Calculation of gear (Lecture – 1h, Lab Work 2h)
5. Shaft connections (Lecture – 2h)
6. Calculation of shaft connections (Lecture – 1h, Lab Work 2h)
7. Couplings, clutches and brakes (Lecture – 2h, Lab Work 2h)
8. Thread types (Lecture – 2h)
9. Threaded connection calculation (Lecture – 2h).
Part-time studies:
1. Gear drive types (Lecture – 1h)
2. Selection of gear material (Lecture – 1h)
3. Calculation of gear train (Lecture – 1h, Laboratory work – 1h)
4. Calculation of gears (Lecture – 1h, Laboratory work – 1h)
5. Construction and calculation of shaft connections (Lecture - 1h, Laboratory work - 1h)
6. Clutches and brakes (Lecture – 1h, Laboratory work - 1h)
7. Types of thread connections, calculation (Lecture – 1h).
Part-time extramural studies:
All the topics intended for full-time studies are covered, yet the number of contact hours is ½ of the specified number of hours.
All lab work tasks must be submitted and defended,
exam must be written and successfully graded.
Credit points are assigned if the rate weighted average score is at least grade 4.
Students must independently perform calculations for the successful execution of laboratory work. Students prepare themselves for the exam on the subject of lectures.
Each work is evaluated on a scale of 10 points.
A successful rating is at least grade 4.
