MežZ2044 [GMEZ2044] Forest Work and Machinery III
The course introduces with the technology, machinery and other working means, which in Latvia and elsewhere are used in forest regeneration, in tending young trees, in the preparation of energy wood raw material from the logging residues, or from retrievable trees in forest tending cuttings, or during the forest infrastructure maintenance, or from tree parts, obtained during forest regeneration, as well as with the technology in timber log yard operations execution, including possible wood primary processing.
SStudents get:
• Knowledge of technology and the corresponding working means for forest renewal and care, preparation of energy wood raw materials, pre-treatment of wood and landing works; (test)
• Skills to analyse technological developments and calculate performance indicators for forest recovery, care, energy-wood raw materials preparation, timber pre-treatment and landing works under certain conditions; (practical work)
• Competencies - capable of supporting proposals for the introduction of a technological option to implement in specific circumstances where forest recovery, care, preparation of energy wood raw materials, pre-treatment of timber or landing works are to be carried out (practical work).
