Course abstract

Several issues will be studied concerning Baltic Sea environment: Physical Geography of the Baltic. Life in the Baltic Sea. Eutrophication of the Baltic Sea. Industrial emissions and Toxic Pollutants. Environmental Protection in the Baltic Region. Water and Wastewater Management in the Baltic Region. Environmental Policy and Agenda 21 in the Baltic Region.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

The course develops specialized knowledge and understanding about sea ecosystems and governing environmental factors in Baltic Sea. 2. The course enables students with an ability to find solutions for decrease of sea pollution and water quality control 3. The course elaborates competence to use knowledge, that students can then bring to elaborate their course works and research approaches on relevant issues in the Baltic Sea.
