Course abstract

Acquired theoretical knowledge students have to use in practice, they have to prepare detailed project on drainage of 40 ha of agricultural land area. Students acquire deeper knowledge in current regulations, directives and regulations related to issue.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge - specialised knowledge of theoretical and practical farmland reclamation methods. Knowledge of application specific drainage methods in specific environmental conditions.
• Skills – comprehensive skills of reclamation network calculations and project design for detailed, delimitation and drainage system. Skills to choose and to apply optimal transport infrastructure and reclamation measures for agricultural usage of farmland.
• Competence – to find optimal soil drainage measures for specific production technology depending on environmental conditions. Competence to expertise design projects and evaluate quality of building process according to national legislation.

Requirements for awarding credit points

The student independently, outside of class, develops the course work in accordance with the task and its requirements. The explanatory text and graphic material must be designed in accordance with the requirements of the methodological instructions for the design of student works. When defending the developed course for obtaining credit points, a dialogue is formed between the student and the teacher, in which the student explains, justifies and defends the drainage network planning, calculations and graphic solutions.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

The student must independently, based on the knowledge of study program Soil and Water Conservation I and developed practical works, develop a course project for the drainage of agricultural lands.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The evaluation mark of the study course depends on the quality of the course project developed by the student, the defense of the work and the answers given to the questions course project.
