Course abstract

Professional practice is intended for strengthening theoretical knowledge in project evaluation, for acquiring competence appropriate for the study program. It covers all stages of project evaluation and project evaluation process components. Students acquire in-depth knowledge of project evaluation principles, strategies, specifics, different methods in practical project evaluation. Theoretical approaches are strengthened in practice in order to gain professional competence in project evaluation and to apply it to improve project evaluation work in various institutions and organizations.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

The knowledge acquired during the theoretical courses on the project development process and methods can be applied in practice in the project development work. Knows the main principles, goals and objectives of the field project development, as well as their practical operation.
Students are able to independently analyze the processes and methods of workplace project development and to link them with theory. Able to critically evaluate project development problems and risks at the practice place, linking the acquired theoretical knowledge with practice. Able to independently, analyze and evaluate project development processes, as well as perform tasks in different areas of practical work, working individually and in a team. Able to solve problematic situations in project development, offer organizations innovative solutions.
The assessment includes the student's report on the practice, defense of the practice and feedback from the supervisor.

Course Content(Calendar)

Depending on the chosen placement, the intern needs to get acquainted and analyze:
1. Work organization at practice place, its structure, responsibilities and competencies, goals, tasks and their context in project management;
2. Different levels of legal and regulatory framework affecting practice place operations and project management, contract types used in project management, use of modern technology / software for project management purposes;
3. Project evaluation process, its organization, project evaluation organizational structure, coordination, project evaluation stages and techniques, project evaluation specifics at practice place;
4. Project tasks, time, cost, etc. planning aspects at practice place, project change forecasting, drafting corrections and project changes, project planning documentation, procurement procedure, evaluating the documentation and project progress;
5. Evaluation of project documentation for compliance with regulatory enactments and international standards;
6. Project life cycle analysis and evaluation, evaluation of project environment, project results and their identifiers;
7. Evaluation of project monitoring, evaluation of project implementation progress;
8. Evaluation of methods and techniques in the project control phase;
9. Evaluation of project product / result quality;
10. Project management and project team work evaluation, conflict and risk management evaluation;
11. Evaluation of marketing plans and activities, evaluation of project publicity;
12. Evaluation of project sustainability.

Assessment includes practice report prepared by student, defense of practice and feedback from practice supervisor.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

During the practice the student fulfills the tasks defined in the placement assignment, as well as performs tasks assigned to the intern by the supervisor of the chosen placement.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Grading mark on a 10-point scale.
Practice must be completed and defended in due time.
The practice is assessed by the quality of the practice assignment, which is determined by the lecturer.
The practice is evaluated by the practice evaluation committee
