Course abstract

Sectoral professional specialisation study course (Part B3) for the “Rural tourism management” section of the professional bachelor's study programme “Commercial activities and company management”
A free-choice course for other study programs.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1.Students will be able to: demonstrate the knowledge of concepts in management of public, business and recreational events and the basic elements of techniques for event creation and development. (Test, a multiple choice test)
2. Demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of how to create, develop and implement ideas for the event target audience. (Discussions, practical assignments)
3. Select and effectively apply proper event management techniques in planning and managing events in an enterprise. (Group work)
4. Reasonably explain and discuss as well as draw conclusions on selected event management solutions. (Practical assignments, discussions)
5. Demonstrate thetorical and moderation skills in the context of event management. (Practical assignments)
6. Responsibly plan the completion of the assignments given. (Group work, practical assignments)
7. Effectively work in a team, delegate and coordinate the fulfilment of responsibilities, explain to others the results of their work and assume responsibility for the results of the group work. (Group work)
8. Independently define and critically analyse problems in the field of event management and come up with alternative solutions. (Discussions in practicals)

9. Plan, organise and manage a broad spectrum of public, corporative, business or recreational events individually or in a group. (Practical group work)

1. Types and scale of measures, their application in business. (Lectures 1 hour)
2. Key elements of the methodology for the development of the measure. (Lectures 1 hour, practical 1 hour)
3. The idea of the event, the creation and development of a vision/intention in the context of demand, supply. (Lectures 1 hour, practical 2 hours, seminar 1 hour)
4. Basic principles for scenario and scenario development. The concept and role of mooring. (Lectures 1 hour)
5. Programme, planning, organising and managing events of the event. (Lectures 1 hour, practical 4 hours)
6. Planning, attracting, organizing, and managing resources. (Lectures 3 hours)
7. Multiple choice test (Practical 1 hour)
8. Managing publicity for the measures. (Lectures 1 hour)
9. Acteerity and speaking arts. (Practical 2 hours)
10. The specificities of Modernisation in Applied and Recreative Measures. (Lectures 2 hours)
11. Risk management in the development and implementation of public measures. (Lectures 1 hour)
12. Ethical and legal aspects of the management of measures. (Lectures 1 hour)

Formal test with a mark cumulative score (100%):
• Multiple choice test – 10%
• Discussions in classes – 10%
