Course abstract

Students produce course papers that demonstrate their skills to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice. Students build up an understanding of and practical skills in managing an enterprise and applying relevant methods.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

KNOWLEDGE: Students will be able to:
demonstrate a structured and analytical knowledge of enterprise management and critically assess literature sources for examining management-related matters.
Assessment methods- Course paper, the defence of the course paper
Professional skills: Define the urgency of the topic and the research aim and specific research tasks of the course paper and select and apply the most proper research methods to produce the course paper. Find, analyse and substantiate input data. Select and apply a proper method and proper maths functions for analysis of management problems. Describe the business environment for an enterprise and the factors affecting the environment
Assessment methods- Course paper, the presentation of the course paper.
Soft skills: Responsibly plan the completion of the assignments given. Present and explain to others the results of the work. Independently find, process and use information on a particular topic.
Assessment methods- Course paper, Presentation.
COMPETENCE: Independently come up with solutions to the problems of managing an enterprise, as well as justify and explain the solutions.
Assessment methods- Course paper, the defence of the course paper.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Choose and coordinate a course job topic with a manager
2. Familiarity with guidelines for drawing up and defending course work.
3. Gathering and systematising theoretical literature.
4. Getting the necessary data and information.
5. Development of analytical parts of the course work.
6. Drawing up key conclusions and proposals.
7. Submit a course job.
8. Preparing a presentation to defend a course job.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Assessment with a mark. The mark consists of the following pieces of assessment:
• Course paper.
• Presentation.

• Defence of the course paper.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

The student independently produces the course paper according to the chosen topic, in consultation with the supervisor. The student submits a fully completed, signed course paper to the supervisor before the deadline. The course paper is assessed by the supervisor and, if it meets the requirements, the supervisor accepts it for defence.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The supervisor organises the defence of the course paper in public. The room and time are set by the supervisor. Assessment criteria for the course paper defence: relevance of the topic; achievement of the aim and specific tasks; methods applied; structure and presentation of the course paper; information sources used; presentation skills. The presentation lasts for up to 10 minutes. During the defence of the course paper, the student answers questions about the course paper and the topic researched. In the result, the supervisor assesses the course paper produced and defended.
