Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to acquire practical skills in the professional practice of engineering in companies, firms, institutions, etc., whose activities are related to road transport. The student trainee is assigned to the position of the company (car mechanician, mechanic, manager, spare parts supplier, etc.) by the order of the manager and obeys all internal rules. According to the specifics of the company's work, during the internship the student acquires skills in organizing and managing the company's work, planning work and control in the procurement and distribution of spare parts and materials.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge - understands the basic principles of company management, division of labor and supervision. Able to identify different stages of the technological process of work performance. Evaluation - according to the practice report and the practice manager's feedback.
Skills - is able to plan, organize and make full use of their working time, place and necessary materials. Able to communicate with related staff. Able to work independently, learn and improve. Evaluation - according to the practice report and the practice manager's feedback.
Competence - is able to solve problems, take responsibility for tasks. Able to adapt their knowledge and skills to perform tasks. Evaluation - according to the practice report and the practice manager's feedback.
The practice is evaluated with a mark.

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Company, firm, institution, etc. organizational structure and operation, occupational safety regulations in the company.
2. Work planning in the company and technological process of work execution.
3. Work with staff, areas of staff responsibility, organization of staff training in the company.
4. The volume, structure and organization of transport at different levels. Procurement procedures. Documentation.
5. Planning, execution and accounting of technical maintenance and repairs of the company's fleet and customer fleet.

6. Evaluation and analysis of the company's operations.

Requirements for awarding credit points

Returning from the professional practice of the faculty, must have a practice report, during the week it should be submitted to practice manager and two weeks to defend. The reference of the student's internship supervisor must be submitted, a signed internship agreement must be submitted. Practice evaluation with a mark.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

During the practice student preparing a report - an overview of the practice and business practices during the work carried out. Practice report shall include a section to practice the company's overall characteristics, scope, customer characteristics, the personnel structure in the company, the organization of the supply of spare parts and materials, as well as a detailed overview of the internship activities and lessons learned.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

The practice is evaluated on a scale after practice performance reporting completeness and quality, supervisor reviews and, if necessary, after the trainee set out on the practice course of negotiations manner.
