Course abstract

The aim of this study course is to learn basics of logistics, acquire knowledge about essence of logistics and their concepts. Additionally there are analyzed core components of logistics, as well as management. The course also deals with number of important logistics elements – transportation, order processing, inventory management, warehouse facilities, packaging and material handling as well as management, control and planning.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

Knowledge. Understand the essence of the logistics, basic components and functions within the logistics chain – tests 1-5.
Skills. Able to link the supply of goods as well as expenses in a single chain or process from raw material to final consumer – practical works.

Competences. Able to apply the logistic approach for improvement the supply of goods – practical works.

Successfully written all the tests and practical works. Type of exam – accumulative exam.

The assessment of the study course is based on the average arithmetic result of all the written tests during the semester.
