The aim of the course is to provide theoretical knowledge and develops practical skills of the students. The human body is designed to be physical active. The theoretical knowledge deals with the physiological impact of physical exercises on the bodies familiarises students with competition rules and principles of their proper organization. The practical classes strengthen the student skills and facilitate development of their physical condition and health of students, the programme offers opportunities to go for different kinds of sport in accordance with the capabilities and interests of the students.
Knowledge - recognizes the connections between the development of physical fitness and functional abilities, lecture.
Skills - competent to independently adjust the set of exercises, according to situation and need, practical classes. Alters the intensity of a session by controlling heart rate during a workout, practical lecture.
Competence - competent to independently perform aerobic, strength and flexibility exercises to take care of improving one’s physical fitness.
Full time intramural studies:
1. Introductory lecture – the correlation between the development of physical fitness and functional abilities - lecture, 2h.
2. Functional fitness testing – practical classes, 2 h.
3. Learning and developing practical skills and proficiency in a selected sport – practical classes, 24 h.
4. Testing of practical skills and proficiency in a selected sport – practical classes, 4 h.
1. Participation and active involvement in practical classes.
2. Performance in testing of physical abilities, according to a selected sport.
3. Participation in health and sporting events, involvement in organising and refereeing sporting events.
Preparation for testing of practical skills and proficiency in a selected sport.
1. The course’s pass mark consists of practical classes attendance, which must be at least 85% from the total number of practical classes.
2. In addition, the performance in testing of physical abilities and testing in a selected sport will be taken in account.
