Course abstract

Interpersonal relations/ communication in education. Receiving and sending of a message. Making of relations according to the situation. Solving of problems in a group or individually. The link of communication with individual study ability. Ecology of education, NLP, Transaction Analysis and communication. Presentations (PowerPoint etc.).

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge: students know and understand the essence of interpersonal relations in education, the 3 components of the interpersonal relations structure, the theoretical basis of pedagogical interface/interpersonal relations in education.
Workshop 1: Social Psychology Theories on interpersonal relations, incl. pedagogical interface. (assessment in points).
• Skills: students know how to independently choose, study, analyze and evaluate scientific literature (monograph, dissertation, set of scientific articles) in the field of pedagogical interface/interpersonal relations in education; are able to speak publicly with the presentation.
Workshop 2: Presentations on the scientific sources (monographs, dissertations, set of scientific articles) in the field of pedagogical interface/interpersonal relations in education and public presentation have been prepared (assessment in points).
• Competencies: Students can critically analyze and evaluate the causes of the pedagogical problem situation, the course of development, as well as find and offer alternative ways of solving, based on their competence (social, pedagogical and psychological competence).
Workshop 3: Analysis and assessment of problem situation based on psychological theories in pedagogical communication (problem situation causes, development of problem situation, offer of problem solving paths).

At the end of the course, a test with a rating (summative or cumulative assessment).

Course Content(Calendar)

1. Lecture and practical work: topic "First meeting in an unfamiliar group" (2 h).
2. Lectures: The essence and importance of pedagogical communication in the pedagogical process. Structure of pedagogical interface/interpersonal relations in education (3 h).
3. Lectures: The theoretical basis of perception. Specificity of social perception. Holistic-based perception of gestalt psychology (2 h).
4. Workshop 1: Authors of Social Psychology Theories about interpersonal relations, incl. pedagogical interface in education (3 h).
5. Lectures: Communication (information exchange). Verbal and non-verbal communication. Congruence and non-congruence of both types of communication from the perspective of NLP methodology (3 h).
6. Public Speech: requirements for a successful presentation (3 h).
7. Lectures. Interaction. Theory: Transaction analysis (2 h).
8. Workshop 2. Presentations on the scientific sources (monograph, dissertation, set of scientific articles) in the field of pedagogical interface/interpersonal relations in education. Discussions (4 h).
9. Lectures. Conflictology. Methodology for conflict resolution. How to understand class/learners group behavior (3 h).
10. Lectures: Models of pedagogical behavior depending on the causes and goals of the destructive behavior of learners. Mediation in pedagogical interface/interpersonal relations in education (3 h).
11. Workshop 3. Analysis and evaluation of pedagogical problem-situation based on psychological theories for interpersonal relations in education (4 h).

Requirements for awarding credit points

All the requirements of the study course are respected, positive evaluations have been obtained in all 3 seminars.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

Lectures and seminars are planned and managed for students.
Students at the beginning of the study course already know all the requirements for a successful completing of study course.
Independent works in preparation for seminars:
• studying, presenting and participating in psychological theories;
• preparation of a presentation on scientific source/ scientific sources and public speech;
• the based on experience reflection characterization of the pedagogical problem-situation, the based on theories analysis and evaluation, the prepared presentation and public speech.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

• Participation in lectures.
• Participation in all seminars.
• In-depth independent theoretical studies in the field of pedagogical interface/interpersonal relations in education.
• All requirements have been respected, all independent work has been carried out and successful assessments have been obtained in all 3 workshops (seminars).
