Course abstract

During Research practice the students begin their independent research activity in the chosen practice base organization: study counselling functions of the practice base organization, the target audience, carry out research of the situation at the organization (obtaining primary data, data processing) in the framework of the selected research problem, using knowledge and skills, developing research competences which they obtained in the framework of various study courses, including Research Work Methodology.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

• Knowledge (in the level of use) that is acquired during study courses before practice Research Practice.
• Skills: to plan and organize research activities, analyze and evaluate counselling services at practice base organization; work with various information sources for data obtaining, summarization, analysis and evaluation the obtained data mathematical processing; to choose and use appropriate data obtaining and data processing methods for research aims, tasks and target audience; to accumulate new experience.
• Competences: able to plan and carry out independently researches in the field of career education and career counselling according to the topic, aim and tasks of research; able to research situation in the context of research problem, including- able to analyze and evaluate the obtained results.

The results of the practice are evaluated by an accumulative test.

Course Content(Calendar)

1.Design an individual plan of practice; introduction of the organization of the practice and its target audience; data collection.
2. Data processing for obtaining descriptive statistics; analysis and evaluation of the results of the research; development of recommendations.

Requirements for awarding credit points

The fulfillment of all requirements of practice by performing independent counseling and research activities in the chosen environment of practice organization.
Positive self-evaluation.
Timely (2 days before the exam) submitted practice report and its successful evaluation.
Preparation of a practice report presentation and public presentation for the accomplishments during the practice; successful defense of the practice.

Description of the organization and tasks of students’ independent work

During practice:
• independent study of the situation;
• the prepared and timely (2 days before the test) electronic submitted written report on the accomplishments during the practice, the last page of which must be self-assessment.
• a presentation and the public presented research process and results, as well as reflection on the research experience, were presented and expressed in the discussions with the examining board.

Criteria for Evaluating Learning Outcomes

Examination criteria meet the requirements of practice:
• individual research practice plan developed;
• studying the practice organization's activities in the field of career counseling;
• studying the target audience of the practice organization;
• data collection, compilation, primary processing for obtaining descriptive statistics;
• analysis and evaluation of the obtained results;
• the basis of the results of the research results and the reflection of experience, recommendations are developed, the goals and tasks of his future advisory and research activity are formulated.
The test assessment is formed in total (cumulative assessment) and consists of the following ratings:
• assessment of the practice report;
• self-assessment of practice;
• evaluation of the prepared presentation and defense of the practice.
